In 1983, Jack Koch had an idea. That he could combine his love of cars and his innate mechanical skills, with his outgoing nature and quest for excellence, into a successful business. That’s when Garfield Auto Service Center was born. Twenty-five years later, Jack still thinks his original idea was a pretty good one and today his son, Jeff, agrees. The father and son team, along with their staff of licensed and certified mechanics, keep your vehicles on the road and running safely.

In those past twenty-five years, Garfield Auto Service Center has repaired the family station wagon and minivan, kept businesses up and running by maintaining their commercial fleets, fixed 4 x 4’s and every model of SUV and crossover vehicle, and also restored vintage automobiles and motorcycles. Some of which they have been proud to see drive-in holiday parades, elicit cheers in Traverse City’s National Cherry Festival, and even escort Miss Michigan to events around our area.

Still, Jack and Jeff Koch are most proud of their record of keeping northern Michigan drivers on the road with safe, quick, reliable, and well-maintained transportation.
